Landscape Change Evidence Hub

Welcome to the Landscape Change Evidence Hub, created to provide access to information that can help us understand how, where, and why England’s landscapes are changing, and how to manage change into the future. Given the urgency and range of pressures acting on our landscapes, a collaborative approach is required to share evidence and co-operate in finding solutions for recovering nature and making landscapes more resilient. This Hub is an opportunity to start bringing together our knowledge and expertise, working at different scales. The Hub includes evidence gathered nationally, providing the ‘big picture’, for example building on the framework provided by the National Character Areas. However, of equal importance is the validation, nuance, and challenge provided by evidence gathered more locally – often by our partners.  The intention, therefore, is for the Hub to provide context for further innovative work, and to encourage knowledge exchange.

Natural England would like to thank all parties who have thus far helped to develop this Hub and the evidence base it supports, including colleagues at LUC and UKCEH who have made very significant contributions, working with Natural England staff, Protected Landscape teams and other contributors whose valuable work is made accessible here.
